It's Me!

right. it's been a while since i updated. was feeling a lill lazy heh :) september has been a blast! so here's a quick lowdown (in no chronological order) :)
surfers' paradise, gold coast
with all the airfare and accomodation paid for, gold coast was more like a holiday for us rather than a conference trip :P it was awesome to escape the cold grey weather of melbourne to the gloriously warm gold coast. lots of time spent sun-tanning by the pool and beach no less :) meals was all about fresh seafood, steaks and copenhagen icecream :))

of course, we did spend (minimal) time at the conference. attended talks, gave my presentation which was a very nerve wrecking experience indeed, supported our prof's back to back dual presentation and the poster sessions.

dr. d.m small's gang :)

in short, the trip to gold coast totally rocks my socks! :)

footy finals playoffs, collingwood vs st kilda.
8 girls turned up in full force at mcg for the finals playoffs :) a scary attendance of ~77,000 peeps at the game. Go pies!

the pies played a very disappointing match against the saints :( loads of cursing and angry fans at the game haa. upset by the lost, especially clara, mush and i (cause we are pies' fans while the rest are just pies' fans by default lol), we drowned sorrows at chi :P ended the night with cocktails, dumplings and springrolls.

wedding, 9 darling street.
grand-uncle, grand-aunty, aunty meiling & some distant relatives under the goh family tree represented the goh clan in s'pore for a wedding here down under :) loved the pre-dinner reception with its free flowing drinks, fresh succulent seafood & lill snacks. unlike the traditional chinese dinner with 10 course meal, dinner was an affair of starters, entree, main and dessert. was a great night with too much wine, laughter and getting to know new relatives haha.

nights out
random nights out with the whole gang. good food. good wines. good music. that's what make us go crazy :)

visitor from perth
boyuan came to town! :))) was awesome meeting up with him. headed to fifteen, the brainchild of jamie oliver. i can go on eons on how good the food and place was. seriously. all the chefs there were dressed like jamie oliver with their white starched uniforms and blue aprons with white stripes. i loved the open kitchen concept, which is what i want in my future restaurant (gj, fh take note!). presentation of food was simple yet stylish. boyuan had the wicked sicilian fisherman’s stew: a rich combination of calamari, tiger prawns, pipis, mussels and fish of the day, grilled sourdough and a dollop of saffron aioli. this as told by the waitress was one of jamie oliver's original recipe and is in the menu of fifteen lodon as well. awesomeness. i had the spaghetti marinara that came wrapped in a lill bag. reminded us of hokkien mee when opened (not the expected type of traditional spaghetti marinara) but the taste...ooooh. making me drool now. definitely heading back there again, soon. can't wait to try the tasting menu (wiggle toes in excitement). we thought of you georgie and gj while eating. heh.

and so, my september couldn't have been any better :)
